UNWOVEN: Book One of the Thomas Burbury Series
Coventry, England, 1831 and thousands of silk ribbon weavers are close to starving. News of the town’s first steam engine threatens to destroy what little work remains, and tensions are rising. Even so, no one expects the violent revolt that erupts that day.
Young weaver Tom Burbury is swept into the chaos and, takes a split-second decision that will change his life forever. Tom is arrested and his neatly woven life begins to unravel. Separated from those he loves, he finds himself at the mercy of a justice system stacked against him, powerful men with agendas of their own, and a government determined to make an example of someone.
Yet as hope fades, Tom’s pastor rallies an unlikely band of supporters in a relentless campaign for mercy—refusing to give up even as time runs dangerously short.
Closely based on a true story, Unwoven is a gripping historical drama about injustice, courage, and the extraordinary power of ordinary people who refuse to abandon one of their own.
